WHAT WE STAND FOR

It’s well known that women and minorities are underrepresented among elected officials. What’s not well known is that this is far more true for political consultants.

Political consultants hold outsized sway over which candidates are considered competitive. They weigh in long before special interest groups, donors, community leaders, or voters have the opportunity to do so. And political consultants are overwhelmingly white men.

At Blue Tiger, we don’t judge candidates by the standards of white men because we’re not white men.

We’re not part of any establishment or machine; we don’t have the backing of anyone powerful or well-funded. We know what it’s like to be outsiders. This isn’t our weakness, it’s our strength. That’s why we believe in using our expertise to give underrepresented candidates the chance they wouldn’t otherwise have.

WHAT WE OFFER

When you run for office, it’s easy to hire a lot of consultants: Fundraising consultants, pollsters, direct mail consultants, communications consultants. They all have different, often contradictory ideas of what your campaign should be doing with its limited resources, and how you should position yourself. Some of your consultants will want to use your campaign as an opportunity to show off their most intricate work, so they can put it in their portfolio for their next job. And your staff will be very confused.

Here, we help you run a coherent, gimmick-free campaign. We’re not just one type of consultant — we’re a one-stop shop. If a campaign needs to do something well in order to win, then we’re great at it. And if your campaign doesn’t need it, we won’t pressure you to buy it. Period.

OUR ETHICS

First and foremost: We believe in democracy. We believe that it is the fundamental right of voters to choose who represents them without any impediment to voting, or to their ability to obtain accurate information about their choices. We will not work with any candidate who wishes to lie about their opponent, create or exploit any impediments to voting, or violate any of the laws that govern campaigns.

Secondarily: We take very seriously our ethical obligations to our candidates. We pledge that we will

  • Do no harm,

  • Respect your privacy,

  • Anticipate and avoid conflicts of interest,

  • Treat our clients with respect, and

  • Never engage in misrepresentation or provide uninformed advice

Lastly: We aren’t lobbyists. There are many consulting firms that are also lobbying firms, who are in the business of asking their former clients to legislate in favor of their current clients. We believe this is a serious ethical conflict. We don’t use the work we have done for our candidates as leverage against them.
